After our interview with Stein. We sat down with Ed Williams. The Australian driving the #22 Idos Motorsport Ford Focus. Ed mainly ran around at the back due to damage and bad luck. Hopefully Zolder goes well for him. Again. It's very much appreciated that Ed sat down to talk to us after Donnington. Best of luck for Zolder!

After coming back to GPVWC after an extended break from the series, how does it feel to be back on the grid with your old competitors? even if you are slightly further down the grid than you may wish to be.

It's nice to be back, I am not sure if anyone really remembers me or not I was pretty low down the FC grid last time I raced but I see some names I remember from previous years.

Qualifying.. A session you most likely wanted to forget after running it. Can you tell us what happened out there and why you qualified soo low down the grid?

2. I think nerves accounted for most of it really, I hadnt raced a real session in two or three years. So I ran wide in the corner heading onto the back straight and if I am being honest I had troubles with that corner all throughout my practice

Race 1 saw you finish at the back of the order when, in practice, you had shown you had the pace to finish in the points. Can you explain what happened in the first race and why you finished so far down the order?

3. I was overly cautious on the start so I lost places and then I got caught up in some lap 1 incidents. My overall goal for the weekend was to make it to the end of all three races so I just decided to try and drive the car home safely after that and see what happened in r2.

Race 2 was the same for you as it was for Stein. A recovery drive to try and hit the reverse grid pole for Race 3. Were you happy with P19 or was there anyhing that prevented you finishing higher up the order?

4. Again I could have done a bit more with the start but I think that race was fairly straightforward nothing to write home about I just tried to keep a consistent pace and see where we ended up.

Race 3 saw you drive a calm, collected and safe race in which even saw you fighting both of the THR BMW's towards the end of the race with you ultimately coming home to finish P16. Do you feel that points were there for the taking during the race or was the pace just not there in the end?

5. Yeah by race 3 I was feeling a lot more comfortable and confident in my driving after ending R2 with a really solid battle with I think it was Ryan Nash I can't remember off the top of my head. I was fighting for the points running ahead of Potters when he really badly outbraked himself and spun us both around costing me what was p15 after Nico retired a lap or two later so for me that race hurt the most.

Finally. As we head off to Zolder for the second round of the ITC season. Do you feel that Zolder is a circuit that will suit you and the car meaning that the possibility of points is a higher possibility?

6. To be honest I don't really know what to expect, I only ever used to race open wheelers so I always feel a bit more comfortable in them but I think towards the end of the donnington race I was getting more confident in my driving and driving around other people again after having not raced for 3 years. I haven't really got any expectations heading into the races this year I just wanna try and finish all of them as best I can and get back into the groove of racing and hopefully improve over the season.
